Honor 200 Pro vs. Galaxy S24 FE: A Mid-Range Camera Comparison!

  • by

Which phone takes the crown for best camera?

The mid-range smartphone market is heating up, with the Honor 200 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24 FE both being viable contenders. While both boast impressive specs, how do their cameras really stack up? I put them through multiple tests, capturing photos and videos in various conditions to see which comes out on top.

Color and Consistency

Since Honor has the Vibrant mode set by default, I will stick to it for the comparison. Right off the bat, the Honor 200 Pro delivers punchier, more saturated colors, especially noticeable in the ultra-wide shots. This vibrant style might be appealing to some, but it sometimes feels a bit over-the-top. The Galaxy S24 FE, on the other hand, offers a more natural and consistent color profile across all its lenses.

Zoom Capabilities

Both phones pack a decent zoom, but the 200 Pro generally produces richer colors and sharper details at higher zoom levels. However, the S24 FE’s telephoto lens holds its own. Interestingly, I noticed some inconsistencies with the Honor’s zoom, where colors and brightness would shift between lenses, especially noticeable while switching between the ultra-wide and main lens.

Is the Honor 200 Pro the Portrait Master?

Honor calls the 200 Pro the ‘Portrait Master’. The Portrait mode was created in a collaboration with the famous french Studio Harcourt and it offers three destinct portrait styles to choose from.. It captures brighter, more vibrant portraits with excellent background separation. The S24 FE’s portrait mode is good, but it tends to blur the background differently, and I found the Honor 200 Pro produced more flattering results overall.

Low-Light Performance

When the lights go down, the Galaxy S24 FE takes the lead. It consistently captures brighter, more detailed low-light images, especially with its ultra-wide lens. The Honor 200 Pro struggles a bit in this department, with noticeable noise and color accuracy issues. Using the dedicated night mode unfortunately also doesn’t help the Honor to surpass the S24 FE in this regard.

The Verdict

Choosing a winner is tough! The Honor 200 Pro excels in portrait mode and delivers eye-catching colors, while the Galaxy S24 FE offers better low-light performance and a more consistent camera experience. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your individual needs and preferences.
